As Design Services Director, I led the strategy, workflow architecture, user experience, and development of a purpose-built platform managing the complete design lifecycle. The system connects internal design operations with an interactive, customer-facing 3D Approval Center.

Project Overview
Create a connected digital workflow that manages every stage of a custom apparel design project, from the initial request and designer assignment through customer review, approval, and purchase.
As Jakroo’s custom apparel business scaled, third-party project management tools and disconnected approval systems could no longer support the complexity of the design operation. Generic platforms could track tasks, but they could not accommodate specialized capacity planning, production requirements, revision logic, test-print validation, or interactive customer approvals.
The Internal Design Workflow System centralizes project intake, designer capacity, scheduling, production information, revisions, team communication, quality control, and operational reporting within one shared platform. The connected 3D Design Approval Center gives customers an interactive environment to review custom apparel, submit revisions, collaborate with teammates, and approve designs for purchase. Together, the platforms create a continuous digital workflow connecting customers, account managers, designers, managers, production teams, and ordering systems from initial request through final approval and purchase.

Treat design operations and customer approval as one connected product ecosystem rather than a collection of separate tools.
I mapped the end-to-end design lifecycle and defined the project structure, user roles, workflow states, scheduling logic, approval actions, reporting requirements, and system integrations needed to support it. I then partnered with frontend and backend developers to translate those requirements into two connected experiences: an internal operating platform for the design organization and an interactive 3D approval experience for customers.
Process
An iterative product development process combining workflow analysis, interface design, automation, user testing, and continuous operational feedback.
I established a structured project model and developed the platform through phased releases, prioritizing high-value automation around intake, assignments, scheduling, status management, and deadline visibility before expanding into revisions, production requirements, quality control, reporting, and customer approvals. Each workflow was tested through active projects and refined with feedback from designers, managers, account teams, customers, and production partners.



The design philosophy was to create one reliable source of truth without oversimplifying the operational detail required by the business. Internally, information needed to be clear, centralized, and actionable so designers could focus on creative work while managers maintained visibility into capacity, deadlines, quality, performance, and production requirements. For customers, the goal was to replace technical and static approval methods with an intuitive visual experience. Interactive 3D models, structured revisions, and clear approval actions made complex decisions easier to understand while keeping every project connected from intake through final approval.
Final Design
The final solution connects internal design operations with customer approval in one continuous workflow from project intake through purchase. Shared project data, automated scheduling, structured revisions, production requirements, and interactive 3D approvals keep teams and customers aligned at every stage. The platform reduces manual coordination while giving designers, managers, account teams, and production partners greater visibility into project status, capacity, deadlines, and next actions.
The Internal Design Workflow System centralizes assignments, deadlines, customer assets, revisions, production requirements, test prints, workload visibility, quality controls, and performance reporting within a shared project environment. The connected 3D Design Approval Center extends that same project to customers through interactive product visualization, structured edit requests, team collaboration, and direct approval tools. Together, the systems create a continuous path from initial request through final purchase without relying on disconnected project-management and approval platforms.
